Innovation Centre Spartherm | Melle
“Innovation centre Spartherm in Melle (DE) gives color to the environment’
On the A30 motorway from Berlin to Amsterdam you come right through Melle, a small town in Lower Saxony. This logistically favorable location creates a lot of industrial activity, making it an attractive location for companies in all kinds of areas, from a vacuum cleaner manufacturer to a distribution center for a large parcel carrier.
Among all this activity, it is important to stand out in a positive way. Spartherm Feuerungstechnik is building a meter high stylized flame on a beautiful location that will serve as an innovation center. This building will house showrooms where the stoves, built-in fireplaces and innovations in the field of good heating for customers and relations can be visited.
Parking no problem!
Parking is a luxury in a place where building land is scarce. That is why a parking garage is being set up under the new building for employees and visitors. Searching for a parking space will no longer be necessary for customers!
The literal and figurative highlight of the building will be a space where events can be held under a 14 meter high glass roof. The floors below will have offices for employees. This gives them a wide view of the city and surrounding industrial activity.
How beautiful yellow is…
Octatube from Delft has developed the facades of the entire building, Sorba has carried out the engineering, production and assembly for the striking yellow cassette panels.
To ensure that the panels are mounted properly, telescopic handlers at supplier Colle in Lexmond were used to test how the cassettes can be mounted in an efficient and safe manner. The cassettes placed on top of the arch are the biggest challenge; the curvature of the facade makes them the most difficult to assemble.
The first ledge with cassettes has now been successfully installed and delivery of the other ledge will follow before the summer of 2021.
All in all, this project is a striking appearance in a gray industrial landscape.
