De Weef: A Sustainable Architecture in Helmond

In the heart of Helmond, a city with a rich history in the textile industry, a new development called De Weef is being built. In collaboration with VFO Architects and Buro Lubbers, a beautiful apartment complex is being created that not only offers luxury and comfort, but also sustainability.

Unique location

De Weef takes its name from the nearby waterways, the Aa and the Zuid Willemsvaart, and its undulating facades evoke the flow of water and the weaving patterns so characteristic of Helmond’s textile history. This new building project is located in the Burgemeester Geukerspark. The balconies and terraces offer beautiful views of the park, while wide strips of green provide privacy and tranquillity.

Sustainable and Energy Efficient Design

De Weef’s design is not only aesthetically pleasing but also sustainable. 67 energy-efficient condominiums equipped with modern technology. A semi-subterranean car park with sufficient parking spaces per apartment, private cycle racks and storage areas help to minimise the impact on the environment. Architectural features such as excellent insulation, veranda access and structural overhangs also help to reduce energy consumption and improve occupant comfort.

With its contemporary and elegant architecture, De Weef is an eye-catcher in the centre of Helmond. Designed by VFO Architects, the complex consists of three towers of 10, 12 and 14 storeys. Its waterfront location and surrounding greenery make it an idyllic place to live, yet all modern amenities are within easy reach. With an A energy rating and innovative building materials such as alpolic, De Weef embodies the future of sustainable living.

Sustainable facade cladding from De Wee

One of De Weef’s most striking features is its Alpolic aluminium composite material (ACM) cladding. Consisting of aluminium, polycarbonate and fibreglass, this material offers durability, ease of maintenance and great versatility. By choosing Alpolic, De Weef’s façade is not only beautiful to look at, but also resistant to various weather conditions and fireproof.

The Perfect Finish

Sorba Projects helped to realise the vision of VFO Architects and Buro Lubbers. From concept to execution, Sorba Projects applied its expertise and craftsmanship to bring the facade of De Weef to life. Their involvement in the project highlights the importance of collaboration and craftsmanship in the construction industry. De Weef in Helmond is an example of sustainability, innovation and collaboration. With its energy-efficient design and striking aluminium cladding, De Weef shows how modern architecture can go hand in hand with environmental friendliness.
